Notes on “Dalle de verre” glasswork
• “Dalle de verre” is French for “Slab glass”
• Slab glass is usually manufactured in bricks measuring 20 x 30 x 2.5 cm
• Colors are rich and saturated, giving the artwork a special glow when held to natural rays of light
• Slab glass was first used in 19th century church windows, where pieces of glass were set in cement.
